Barclays Human Resource Service Centre starts operations in Lithuania

Barclays has announced that it has opened a global service centre for Human Resources in Lithuania. This is one of two global HR Service Centres within Barclays, each of which have a contact centre and carry out transactions for a number of key HR processes, servicing customers from across the Group.

DPD Lietuva, a parcel delivery company which has been growing successfully for the last few years, is now expanding its business even further. Lithuania among the most favourable countries for investment in manufacturing

The world’s largest privately held real estate agency, Cushman & Wakefield, announced the ranking of the world’s top manufacturing locations according to its Manufacturing Index. In the category of “High Growth Locations” Lithuania is in 3rd position ahead of Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovenia.

According to data published in FDI Magazine of the Financial Times, Vilnius was assigned first place according to the economic efficiency of investment. The capital of Lithuania topped cities such as Tallinn, Brno and Gdansk.

Lithuanian experts digitise Norwegian schools

The development of an IT system to digitise all Norwegian secondary schools has started in Vilnius. The Norwegian company Visma, which won the order for this system in its home country, entrusted its programming services centre Visma Lietuva, which operates in Lithuania, to perform programming tasks for this order.

Euro is not the reason why investors are lining up

The IMF report indicates that Lithuania’s next year's transition to the euro – the litas has been pegged to the euro at a fixed rate since 2002 – will not bring about any “visible” changes, but will provide a few macroeconomic benefits to the country.
